About us

Here is a little back around about this guild and the guild leader. While there are three leaders of the guild, this story is about just one of them.

Believe it or not the origins of Phoenix Nebula started in the World of Warcraft game. Five friends sat down to decide what are the ideals an morals of playing an mmo. They all began to write down what is important to them as a group. The first ideal was that  “real life comes first.” If you are so involved in the a game that your own life passes you by then there is a problem. If you need time to take a break do so and don’t be afraid of upsetting anyone in the game. The second ideal was “to have fun.” If you aren’t enjoying the game then why play it? If when you are doing dailies, questing or raiding and it just feels like work then you wont be truly involved in what is going on. The next important thing to the group was “to try and be polite.” It hard enough to be running with a pick up group (pug) and having people take an item you really need or to be insulted in general chat, but to have that going on with in the guild itself is unacceptable. If you feel you have been wronged, talk to the person about it, but always be polite. The last important topic the group agreed on was “To work toward the same goal.” If the guild as a whole wants to start raiding, then as a guild you should be helping each other level and get gear. Image if you will a dog sled. If all eight dogs are pulling in one direction then the sled will go in that direction. However, if five dogs go one way and three go another way it wouldn’t work very will.

After the group had all agreed on these morals the guild Soaring Phoenix was created and ran by these friends. The guild was very successful during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and everyone was very pleased. Unfortunately, like many mighty and successful empires the guild fell apart do to real life circumstances. Many of the guild members went their own way to other guilds and other games. One of the guild leaders went to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Him and his wife started playing and quickly got into a small guild. They had made some friends but really didn’t feel like part of the guild. Maybe it was because of their level or maybe it was because the guild had its own separate groups. Either way they just never felt like they belonged. After taking sometime to learn the game they had created Phoenix Nebula. They quickly built up the guild by recruiting people who played the same way as they did. Soon they had many people who were maxed level and they decided they would start doing ops together (raiding). They took a few weeks to work as a group and gather gear they would been to complete the first raid. They had people studying strategies for their first encounter. They began to create their own way of doing the encounter. However, once again real life circumstances effected the guild leader and him and his wife needed to take a break from the game. One of their officers took it upon himself to keep the guild going. He didn't give up and kept the guild alive in their absence.

Now they are back and are rebuilding the guild. They are focused on helping their guildies level and get the gear they need. They retain the morals from soaring phoenix and use them in Phoenix Nebula. We hope that this little bit of insight helps you understand why certain things are doing in the guild. We look forward to playing with you! Have fun!
